Welcome to Oceanair Early Childhood Center, “Home of the Dolphins!”  As of August 2026 Oceanair is a Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 Early Childhood Education School, located in a diverse urban environment in Norfolk, Virginia. We are a short walk to the Chesapeake Bay and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. 

Our school first opened in 1916, with C. Fred Kelley as the first Principal. The current building was built in 1955 to accommodate the growing student population.

Oceanair administrators and faculty enable every student to reach their highest potential by establishing a curriculum standard for education, programs that develop students' mental, physical and social skills.

We invite and encourage parents and community partners to volunteer at our school, browse our website, and to contact us at your convenience. We are excited to welcome you to our school community, which is located by the bay, where amazing and exciting educational activities happen every day!
